The award-winning Cabaret extravaganza returns with an even bigger show featuring Burlesque, Cabaret, Circus, Drag and of course Lucha Libre wrestling. Sylvia will have an art and accessories stall at the event, but will be skulking around the sidelines as Stage Manager. Tomorrow sees Perth’s latest ‘Tribal Arts Soiree’ Hang About, at 11 Vivian St, Burswood. Running from noon til dusk, and supported by Exotic Body Piercing, Hang About features live piercing and suspension from Flesh Mechanix, as well as local artists and musicians, including Sylvia Sippl and Elvi. These artists have collaborated before with fantastic results, and tomorrow’s event promises to be the best yet, with live suspension combined with live airbrushing, and more!

Tomorrow is the annual Angove St Festival! Sylvia will have a stall featuring live painting and handmade goods for sale. Find her  at the Charles St end of the festival, near the ‘Small Stage’. Each year the Angove St Festival draws huge crowds to North Perth to enjoy a fun day out featuring live music, culture and kids’ activities. You can download the map here and read more about the great artists participating in the festival here. 6000 has written a review of the festival here, and Propel Arts has also written a post about the event!

Once you’ve enjoyed all the festival has to offer, why not head to the Northbridge Piazza for more fun? During the day, kids’ movies will be screening and fun performers roving through the Piazza. Then at night, Feisty’s SuperKool Variety Show will take over, featuring some of Perth’s best talent, including Azure Entertainment’s Vita Flame and the wrestlers from their award-winning Lucha Royale show!

Stay tuned for updates about an upcoming exhibition featuring Sylvia Sippl!

Perth’s Fringe World festival has drawn to a close after almost 1,500 performances of 200 shows, with almost 180,000 people attending! 44 shows had sell-out seasons, including Azure Entertainment’s Lucha Royale and Burlesque Garden shows!

The Fringe World awards night at the Bakery was also a great hit, as well as a fun opportunity to mingle with fellow Fringe artists and special guests. Of course all were waiting with baited breath for the announcement of the Perth Now People’s Choice award, a highly sought-after prize decided purely on audience votes. Congratulations to the Lucha Royale for this great honour! Azure Entertainment, Lady Velvet Cabaret and EPW Perth share in this great success!

Congratulations must also go to Anna Dunhill and Renae Coles, curators of The Conservatorium exhibition, featuring small-scale works from 80 invited artists (including Sylvia Sippl), exhibited creativey and uniquely within glass jars. The exhibition won the Visual Arts award and was an excellent representation of the local visual arts scene in a festival so filled with diverse and creative theatrical, dance and musical productions.
